Lacy Regressing

We have been very blessed with Lacy's loving reaction to the arrival of her sister, Anjali. It has made things really easy on us. Aside from Lacy loving Anjali TOO much, we are comforted in knowing we don't have to worry about any ill will on Lacy's behalf towards her baby sister. However, the last couple days Lacy's been doing this (watch video).

Anjali's First Laugh

I've been waiting for weeks to hear Anjali laugh. She laughed for the first time yesterday (Monday). It's too cute. Something just so sweet and innocent about baby laughs.

Nap Time

I've realized that in order to succeed as a mother of two I need to be efficient with my time. Ideally, I would wake up early in the morning before both my girls so I can get my shower and breakfast along with a few little things around the house that are best done while the girls are sleeping. This almost never happens. So I begin to make mental lists of all the things I need to do during the girls nap time. After lunch is nap time. I think to myself, "Finally! I can clean up the house. Start dinner. Pay bills. Fold the laundry...etc." In all actuality, I usually watch some TV and goof around on the internet. The girls nap time is the best part of my day! Aren't they so cute when they're sleeping?!

P.S. Lacy got new Dora bedding as a reward (aka bribe) for sleeping in her own room after a hard month for EVERYONE of not sleeping in her own room.

Grandparents Weekend

We were busy this weekend making trips to see all of the grandparents. Saturday we went down to Woodland Hills to see Halmony and Grandpa Hanks. We took Anjali in to get pictures of her in her blessing dress. Lacy followed Halmony around all day. I played Wii Golf and Tennis with my dad and Cliff. (I'm the reigning Tennis champ...bwahaha--had to throw that in)

Sunday we drove up the mountain to see Grandpa Clinton. We left early in the morning to go to church with him. Anjali was adored by many people at church--of course Lacy was too. But while I was off playing with Lacy, I heard that a very proud Grandpa Clinton passed Anjali around to his friends. CUTE! After church, Anjali and I took a nap while Grandpa, Cliff, and Lacy played in the yard with the remnants of snow. We did not bring proper attire for Lacy to be out in the cold :/ but she didn't seem to mind. As we also didn't bring our camera, Grandpa took pictures of our cute girl.
It seems Lacy very much liked the bear bench. And found a pinecone and tried to feed it to the bear. Then Grandpa handed her another pinecone.
And she had the brilliant idea to start collecting pinecones to make a pile. So she ran all over the yard looking for pinecones.
Funny girl! Of course she didn't want to come inside when it was time for dinner. We had to change her clothes as they were all wet. Then she fell asleep on Grandpa's bed watching a movie--or multiple movies--while us grownups got to watch a movie in the living room.

We really enjoy having our family close!

We got all bundled up to go to Disneyland Wednesday night. It was cold and SO empty. But lots of fun still!

Lacy loves Anjali

Happy New Year!

We spent New Years with my parents and siblings...we were trying to hang out as much as possible with Rebekah before she left for basic training and Noah before he went back to school. Our girls love their Aunts and Uncles!


One of the Korean traditions for New Years is to bow to your elders to pay your respects and to give and receive best wishes for the upcoming year. (It's usually done for the Lunar New Year, but our family has made a habit of doing it on the calendar New Year.) Lacy was a bit unnerved--being forced to bow the first time. Anjali, though, took right to it.
After doing it the first time, Lacy decided it was fun and jumped in to do it when it wasn't her turn. She even turned it into a full body slither dance on the floor bow. (Lacy with Noah and Rebekah.)

December Catch-Up

As many of you know, December is a VERY busy month for us. Lacy's birthday is on the first. Mine is on the sixth. Then there's Christmas on the 25th and our Anniversary on the 28th. For those of you who didn't know about all these events--I do accept personal checks ;) All kidding aside, throw in get-togethers with all the family and friends that are in town for the holidays and the parties and the shopping and the baking and everyone getting colds and all the other madness...much of it is now a blur, but I'll do the best I can.

Here's some pictures from Christmas morning. We started the morning by opening stockings in bed. Lacy was thrilled with her little Disney princess dolls (Aurora and Belle).
And as you can see my happy baby Anjali is pleased as punch with her stocking as well!
We then went downstairs to open presents under the tree.
I have to back track here for a bit. For the 2 weeks preceding Christmas, I could not leave a wrapped present anywhere within Lacy's reach, because she would open it. All the presents that were sent out in the mail or via grandpa to Utah were wrapped at least twice, because Lacy opened them while I wasn't looking. Even when visiting my uncle's new apartment Lacy managed to sneak off and open a present while we were in the other room. That being said, you can see that Lacy had already mastered ripping open presents and was well aware of the excitement of what was in store for her. But on Christmas morning, after opening presents #1, 2 and 3, we could tell that Lacy's excitement paled in comparison to the dolls she had just opened in her stocking. So she pretty much gave up interest and played with her dolls. Therefore, mom and dad had to force Lacy to open presents #4-8. Christmas day she didn't play with anything but those dolls. Cliff and I were excited that we might be able to return all of the expensive toys we got her since she was so disinterested. But her short attention span returned and she managed to open all of the new toys before we could think twice about returning them.

Anjali, my little angel, was all smiles while I opened her first present. But by the time I got to her second present, she fell asleep :)


Anywho...we did really well on Christmas. We received some great gifts and were able to see a lot of loved ones during the holiday season! Plus it was our first Christmas with Anjali...Baby's First Christmas is always fun!
