Anjali's Smile

Her newest tricks. Cooing and Smiling.

It's Christmas Time!

Monday night, we picked out a Christmas tree as a family. We brought it home and got our decorations out. We watched the First Presidency Christmas Devotional while we decorated the tree. I love decorating for Christmas...Our house is a lot bigger than any of the apartments we previously lived in--we need to get more decorations!

Lacy had fun playing with the Veggietales nativity scene from the Bennetts. She also liked sweeping up the pine needles with Cliff.

Live Nativity

Our church had a creche celebration this last weekend. There were about a hundred beautiful Nativity Scenes displayed and there were live performances of Christmas music going on from multiple ensembles in the community as well. It was really nice. But the really cool part for us is that we were asked to participate in the live Nativity scene--since we had a newborn. We really enjoyed it. Our shift was only an hour long. The kids that walked by were so surprised that Anjali was a real baby. People were taking pictures and oggling Anjali. It was a very special experience. Afterwards, they dressed up Lacy like an angel (she wasn't in the live nativity with us) so we could get a picture of the whole family. I think they turned out cute!

Lacy's ACTUAL Birthday

We took advantage of the fact that Lacy really is too young to understand that she got shafted on her actual birthday. We were too tired to do anything fun (like go to Disneyland, which was our original plan). So we stayed home and watched Disney's Cars, one of her presents. We did go to Coldstones for ice cream...because we had a birthday club coupon for free ice cream. SUPER SAVERS!

Hide and Seek SKILLZ

This is Lacy's newest hiding technique. She's quite the illusionist, isn't she? (Look how well she makes herself disappear).

Lacy's Birthday Party

We had a family over to celebrate Lacy's 2nd birthday. Forty people to be exact. It was a full house. We had a BBQ lunch and some cake. Lacy got lots of great presents. And she really enjoyed having so many family members in the house. Thanks everyone!

Thanksgiving in Big Bear

I didn't get any pictures of the family around the table. But I did get pictures of Lacy getting in to 'stuff' at Grandpa's house.
Here's Lacy with ALL the costume jewelry.

And here's Lacy in her Aunt Caryn's prom dress.

Anjali's First Trip to Disneyland

We went to Disneyland on Friday night. It was Anjali's first time. She slept the whole time--even through the really loud fireworks show. The Christmas decorations were great. We rode the Christmas version of Smallworld and Lacy got to experience "snow."

1 Going on 16

I was getting ready to walk out the door to a church baptism. I turn the corner and this is what I see! This is the worst case of runny mascara I've ever seen :)

Needless to say, I didn't make it to the baptism. She used up my whole tube of mascara and put a good dent into my blush. I think its funny that she knew more or less how to apply the makeup. (around the eyes and lips) Cliff didn't find the event as humorous as I did. I laughed out loud and took pictures for 5 minutes...then I took her upstairs and threw her into the bath. Cliff then came up and told Lacy that she shouldn't play with mommy's makeup. Good thing there's two of us to pick up each other's slack.

Sisters

Lacy loves her baby sister. We couldn't get both girls to look at the camera at the same time. We kept trying and after 5 or 6 pictures Lacy had enough and started pushing Anjali away. Sheesh, it's like she has the attention span of a 2-year-old :)

Their t-shirts read "If you think I'm cute, you should see my sister." (Thanks Barrios! Too cute!)

Helping in the Yard/Patio

On Saturday, Cliff was pulling the weeds that grow in between our brick floored patio. Lacy thought that was pretty interesting and wanted to help. She got to sweep up the weeds with the dust pan. What a big helper!

More Princesses

Cliff and Kortney took Lacy to Disneyland today. This time at the Princess Faire they waited in line to meet the princesses and take pictures. I was told that while they were waiting in line there was a shift change and all the 'A-List' princesses took a break. (These are the D-List princesses, I guess) They'll have to go back another day to get pictures with Cinderella, Belle, and Aurora. But regardless, Lacy was quite the chatterbox with these less popular princesses and still enjoyed herself.

Halloween Night

We hung out with Cliff's family in Norwalk for Halloween. We ate a yummy dinner at Grandma and Grandpa's house and then the kids went Trick-or-Treating. Cliff wanted to go around his old neighborhood to show off his two little girls. Lacy did good. It was a chilly night and she stayed in her stroller for most of the time.

My favorite parts of the evening were:
1. While everyone was eating dinner, Lacy decided to 'practice' Trick-or-Treating and took multiple handfuls of candy from the bowls that Grandma had set out to give away and put them into her bucket.
2. After Trick-or-Treating, we had cake at Grandma's house. We stopped paying attention to Lacy for a minute. Next thing, Kortney says "Lacy NOO!". I look up and Lacy is licking the big kitchen knife that was used to cut the cake. Blade side in her mouth of course. (Thanks for saving our child Kortney.)
3. Lacy of course didn't eat much of the yummy dinner that was prepared, so her dinner mostly consisted of Skittles. Subsequently, she was on quite a sugar high. Running around. Yelling. Talking. She dumped her bucket of candy out onto the floor to check out the goods. Then Aunt LuAnn suggested she roll around in it. And Lacy did. What a goober!
