Easter

Our Easter festivities started with Easter baskets first thing in the morning!

After church, we headed over to Granny's house for lunch, an egg hunt, and egg dying.

Look at that evil grin.

We also attempted a photo shoot of the kids in their Easter clothes. Some day I will get the perfect picture...

I have fond memories of Easter Egg hunts at Granny's house when I was a kid. I love that I get to do it now for my kids! They were so excited. It was so fun!

Cliff's such a good sport. Neither of us were interested in helping the kids dye eggs. We were going to try to pawn them off on my cousin Veronika (bwahaha) but Cliff got suckered in.

Spring Break - Last Day

After we packed our things and checked out of the hotel, we spent the day at the Wild Animal Park. It was crowded--so we only stay to do the bus tour. During the bus tour, Lacy kept telling Cliff, "Dad! Look! Take a picture of that!"

Spring Break - Part 3

We went to the zoo again. This time just our little family. We were able to see everything we wanted--but only took a few pictures.

We did make it over to the panda exhibit.

Here are my monkeys!

And that's all the pictures for that day!

Spring Break - Part 2

We spent a lazy morning in the hotel (MY FAVORITE part of vacation) and then drove around town. We made our way to Seaport Village.

The girls got their arms painted.

Lacy picked Boo from Monsters Inc.

Anj picked a blue fairy.

Spring Break - Part 1

We vacationed in San Diego during Spring Break. We went to the zoo. Our friends met us there.
There were too many kids. It was hot. It was crowded. But we still had fun.

Look at this...

Remember this post?! That was 3 and a half years ago. We've come a long way!

Happy Birthday Cliff!

Uncle Chris was in town for the half Ironman down in Oceanside. We drove down to meet up with Justin and family and Chris of course. We had a yummy lunch at Ruby's on the pier.

Oh--I love how much Uncle Chris loves the little kids!

After our visit, we celebrated Cliff's worst birthday ever.
Cliff does not like cake. He likes pie. Not just any pie. Bakers Square pie.
We planned to have dinner at Fuddruckers, which is in the same shopping mall as Bakers Square, not because Cliff loves Fuddruckers. But because we would be in close proximity to his celebratory birthday pie.
The kids fell asleep in the car on the way there. I stayed in the car in the Fuddruckers parking lot, while Cliff ran over to buy his birthday pie. He came back a few minutes later and told me they had closed down. :(
At Fuddruckers, we were joined by friends and family. When deciding what to order, Cliff told his wife that he wanted to try an ostrich burger. But his evil wife denied him. That mean lady told him that he wasn't going to like it and shouldn't ruin his birthday dinner by ordering something nasty. Reluctantly, Cliff ordered a turkeyburger, which according to him, was dry and nasty. :(
While eating his nasty dry turkeyburger, he was ousted by his sassy daughters to the way end of the table, by the bathrooms. Just so those bratty girls could sit next to their Halmony and Grandpa. :(
We tried to make his day better by doing a yummy dessert of Pinkberry--but I don't think anything could replace his beloved Bakers Square pie. :(
We went back to our house where Cliff opened presents and played video games.

I'm sorry Cliff your day was so bad. I really do love you and will try harder next year to make your birthday special.
