Lacy's Tol Party

'Tol' is the korean word for a child's first birthday. Lacy had her first birthday party on Saturday and we threw in a little bit of korean culture which made it fun. My mom's side of the family pulled out all the stops on the party. And it was a GREAT party...lots of family and friends came, the food was good, the cake was yummy, Lacy was entertaining and cute as can be. We're really blessed to have so many people who love our little girl.

Also, if anybody has pictures from the party please email them to me at leahclinton@gmail.com THANKS!

Exhausted after going shopping with Mom

Lacy and I hit up a bunch of stores on the busiest shopping day of the year! We started at 8AM and didn't come home until 11:30ish(AM). She was a pretty good sport. But near the end, she didn't hesitate to let me know that she'd had enough. DRAMA!! I think I know now what the next 18 years are going to be like.

In this picture, Lacy is crawling through her little activity table and angry that she's stuck. HAHA. She dropped a toy and instead of going around it to pick it up she decided to crawl through the table instead. Cliff and I were laughing so hard...and of course we made her lay there screaming while we made sure to get a good picture--THEN we helped her out.

Lacy's been pretty entertaining these last few weeks. Her favorite hang out is on the side of the entertainment center. We removed the glass shelves a couple months ago to childproof and now it's Lacy's favorite spot to climb into...I'll have to get a picture of her in there. She can say 'hi' 'no' 'daddy' 'mama' 'eeah' (I think she means leah). And today I caught her singing 'e-i-e-i-o' along with her dvd. She dances when she hears music. She tries to wink, but ends up scrunching up her nose and squinting her eyes. She was doing this cool trick with her eyebrows, raising them up and down, up and down, but she would nod her head along with too--it was pretty funny. She's still pretty apprehensive about walking. Only taking a couple steps at a time. But she'll start any minute now.

She turns one on December 1st. (Her birthday party is Nov. 26th and you're all invited. Email me if you need details leahclinton@gmail.com) This year has gone by so fast. I feel like I can hardly remember what she was like as a tiny newborn. Thanks everyone for all of your love and support. Lacy is such a fun and bright girl and I know it's because you have all left a wonderful and loving impression on her.

Lacy's First Halloween

Lacy got to 'trick-or-treat' last Friday night at our church halloween party... So tonight we took it easy and hung out with some friends who also had kids who were a little too young to go out and trick-or-treat. Lacy wore her costume and got candy drool all over it both nights. We thought she was pretty cute. (the pics with the backdrops were ones we sent out as halloween grams..they were a big hit!)

Carving Pumpkins

We carved pumpkins with our neighbors this afternoon. Here's how Lacy helped out...

Update!

Lacy is growing up and there's no stopping her!

Her latest tricks include saying 'HI' and waving...so she knows that the two go together but not necessarily the correct timing to use either ;)

And she figured out how to cover her eyes with her hands to play peek-a-boo (which is a new discovery since we've always hidden behind furniture and never played peek-a-boo with just our hands). The cute part is that sometimes she misses and covers her nose instead with her little fingertips in her eyes.

ALSO, Lacy took her first steps on Monday. She walks about 3 or 4 steps from toy to furniture or furniture to toy. But she still will not walk when we egg her on...she's just proving that she'll do it at her own pace. She's a smart one! We haven't caught it on tape yet, but picture this: The other day she didn't have a shirt on when she was walking and it was just so cute to see her legs pretty steady but her upper half of her body just wobbling around with her big belly puffed out.

I love her! She's so much fun!

SCARY GORILLA!

Oh! I almost forgot. While Cliff and Lacy were waiting for me while I used the restroom, they walked over to the statue of a gorilla--only to discover that Lacy was terrified of it. Cliff would hold her right next to the statue and she would squirm, reaching for one of us to take her away from it. It was funny, cruel on our part, but still funny.

Lacy goes to the SD ZOO

We went to the San Diego Zoo with our neighbors today. It was lots of fun! I'd have to say that the Camels were her favorite...probably because they walked up right in front of her, and they're big so they were hard to miss. We took her to the children's petting zoo part, thinking that she'd enjoy it--but we were wrong. She didn't really want to touch the animals and didn't think they were that big of a deal. She did keep saying 'HI' to the orangutans at the Absolutely Apes, but that was the last thing we went to for the day and so she was running low on enthusiasm. She was great all day though for hardly taking any naps. We're so lucky she's such a good kid!

Pumpkin Patch

Here's Lacy picking out pumpkins for her first halloween! She loved the pumpkins--got mad everytime we walked away from them. We got two pumpkins--Lacy's giving a thumbs up (kind of) with the ones we picked out.

Practicing Walking

Little Lacy started using her push toys to practice walking. The problem before was that they would go too fast and she couldn't keep up and consequently face plant...but she's got it almost figured out. If you don't mind downloading a video (I couldn't bring myself to compress it--) go to http://freemediapost.com/galleries/Lacy and click on Walking Soon... to see her in action!

I think she looks a little like Forrest Gump. Her Aunt Char thinks she just has a hitch in her step. What do you think?

Mohawk baby

Lacy finally has enough hair for a successful mohawk. We tried it a couple months ago, but her hair is much more cooperative now.

Playing with Tyler

Cliff's sister and her baby, Tyler are visiting from Utah. Lacy and Tyler are about 6 weeks apart (Lacy's older). Lacy loved having someone her size to play with...Tyler was more into playing with Lacy's toys.

She takes after her mom...

Lacy was being uncharacteristically quiet...I walked around the corner and saw that she had taken my wallet apart and was holding all of my credit cards like a poker hand and was grinning and even did a little diabolical laugh when she saw me. She's a clever one...

All Partied Out

Lacy had a blast at her friend Nixon's birthday party. She watched the kids, went on the swings, played with the hose, ate dirt, and pigged out on animal crackers, cupcakes, smarties and lollipops. She even took a couple swings at the pinata. She was so tired afterwards, she wouldn't sit up straight in her booster chair for dinner. (pic:Lacy eating a lollipop after dinner of course.)
