Christmas Eve

Our Christmas Eve traditions are pasta for dinner, baking cookies, and watching the movie Elf. Fortunately for me, my friend gave me a giftcard for Macaroni Grill for Christmas--which meant I bailed out on making my Christmas Eve lasagna and we went out instead. When we got home, Cliff turned on Elf and we got busy baking! I made the cookie dough. The kids and Cliff cut them out. And I baked!

The girls favorite part was sprinkling the powdered sugar out on the table so we could roll out the cookies. See?!

I get my own little taste of sugar...

Wes was our moral support.

After baths, our finished product:

Instead of Christmas pjs, the girls got house slippers. (maybe the start of another tradition...)

We left Santa his plate of cookies and glass of milk. We didn't have any carrots for the reindeer this year so we improvised and left a bag of pre-sliced apples.

I have to admit--having 3 kids and having kids old enough to be excited for Christmas make the holidays so much fun!

Making cookies sounds like such a fun tradition! I just might have to steal it. ;)
