A Long Time Coming (Cliff's Graduation)

After 12 years of grade school, 4 years of undergraduate, 4 years of medical school, and 3 years of residency Cliff is DONE with school. I am so proud of him and his achievements. He is such a smart, fantastic, funny guy and I am so blessed to have him as a husband and father to my children.

Cliff's Residency Program had a Graduation Ceremony/Celebration at the Balboa Bay Club. It's a beautiful place. In the room where the graduation was held, each graduate was given one table with 10 seats--we squeezed 7 adults, 2 teenagers, 2 toddlers and 1 infant--but if we had it our way, we could have easily filled up the whole room with our own family and friends that we wanted to celebrate the occasion with. Aside from the graduates and their families, the rest of the people attending were physicians and staff that Cliff has worked with the last three years. Everyone came up to us to tell us what a great guy Cliff is: How smart he is. How fun he is to work with. How they'll miss him. And how funny he is. (insert Leah's sarcastic cough here)

Here's Cliff being roasted by Dr. Munzing, before receiving his diploma/certificate of completion.

Here's Cliff receiving the Chiefs award. (That's right, he was Chief Resident!)

Here he is presenting a resident's choice faculty award to a Gastrointestinal Physician. Cliff made sure to make lots of potty references during his presentation--get it?--because the Dr deals with a lot of poop. (I'm rolling my eyes now, but it was humorous and appropriate at the time.)

Congrats! That is so exciting. However I don't think your family could ever be as dysfunctional as the Bluths. But it would be pretty awesome if someone could make that yacht in the background disappear. That would be quite the illusion. ;-)
